  15.      _d_i_s_k_p_a_t_c_h is normally run from _c_r_o_n(1M) twice a week and whenever the
  16.      system is shutdown.  It uses the hardware inventory mechanism to find all
  17.      the disk drives on the system attached to the supported SCSI controllers,
  18.      (excluding the _j_a_g(_7_M) controller) and determines the type of disk drive
  19.      by sending the SCSI _i_n_q_u_i_r_y command, using the _d_s(7M) driver.

  21.      If the drive is found to be one of the susceptible drives, a special
  22.      command is issued to the drive that causes it to spin down (stop) for a
  23.      brief period, and then start again.  This sequence prevents the stiction
  24.      from occurring, in most cases (stiction means that the magnetic heads
  25.      have become stuck to the surface of the drive media, usually preventing
  26.      the drive from starting and preventing the drive from being used).

  28.      The options are:

  30.      ----vvvv        Verbose mode.  The inquiry info for each disk drive found is
  31.                printed.
  32.  
  33.      ----HHHH _h_a_l_t   Send a vendor specific command to the affected disk drives that
  34.                will usually prevent stiction from occurring.  _h_a_l_t is the
  35.                interval in seconds the drive will remain halted; the interval
  36.                should be 30 seconds.  Normally this command is ignored by the
  37.                disk drive if it has been running less than 48 hours since last
  38.                turned off or the command was last issued.

  40.      ----FFFF        Forces the cleaning action specified by ----HHHH regardless of time
  41.                since last issued or hours powered on.
  42.  
  43.      ----SSSS _d_e_l_a_y  Specify the delay in seconds between sets of drives, to avoid
  44.                overloading the drive's power supply.  An attempt is made to
  45.                overlap drives to reduce the overall runtime.
  46.  
  47.      ----WWWW        Warns if the firmware isn't new enough to support this command,
  48.                and the disk appears to be one of the susceptible disk drives.
